La Kashi art Gallery de Kochi (Kerala) accueille Un musée (de théâtre) , installation interactive conçue par le metteur en scène français Clyde Chabot.
Inspirée de la pièce de théâtre Hamlet-machine de Heiner Müller, elle tente d'inscrire, le temps d'une photo, l'histoire individuelle de chacun dans la grande Histoire. Les visiteurs, en réalisant leur autoportrait, deviennent Hamlet ou Ophélie. Ils choisissent une photo historique du XXe siècle vidéoprojetée sur un grand écran et un (ou plusieurs) mots extrait(s) de la pièce de Heiner Müller - ces mots étant traduits en anglais et en malayalam.
Johann Maheu, scénographe et photographe, réalise les portraits des visiteurs. Le public peut voir les images prises précédemment sur place ainsi que celles des précédentes éditions en Allemagne et en France. Les visiteurs peuvent les retrouver sur internet (www.inavouable.net). Le texte Hamlet-machine, lu dans sa traduction anglaise par un acteur du Kerala, est diffusé en voix off. Un musée (de théâtre) est un geste poético-politique, un processus de création en modèle réduit, une micro-fiction.
The Kashi art gallery of Kochi, Kerala , is welcoming A Museum (theatre), an interactive installation conceived by French stage director Clyde Chabot.
Inspired by Heiner Müller's play Hamlet-Machine, the project is an attempt to incorporate, in the lapse of a snapshot, each person's individual story into larger History. Visitors become Hamlet or Ophelia as they create their own self-portrait. They choose one 20th century historical picture, which is projected onto a large screen, and one (or several) word(s) taken from Heiner Müller's play, in either English or Malayalam translation.
Johann Maheu, set designer and photographer, shoots portraits of the visitors. The audience can see the pictures which were taken on the spot, as well as those of previous sessions of the installation in France or in Germany. The visitors can also find them on the internet (www.inavouable.net). The text of Hamlet-Machine is broadcast in voice-over, read in its English translation by an actor from Kerala. A (Theatre) Museum is a poetic and political act, a creation process in small-scale model, a microfiction.
